What is the role?: Supporting on our Holiday, Activity and Food (HAF) scheme, you will support the team in delivering a fun day of activities to young people aged between 8 and 14 years who are on free school meals and your focus will be on supporting with cooking skills and healthy eating guidance
What does a day in the life of this role look like?: You will join other team members in running 4 x 45 minute cooking activities across the day with up to 10 young people at a time, in the outside cooking area. Whether you are a passionate chef or someone who cooks for a family, we would love you to support young people in developing this important life skill, as well as providing them with some nutritional advice and guidance about healthy eating. You will be involved in all stages of the activity from shopping for ingredients, preparing the food and cleaning up afterwards.
Are there any key skills, attitudes or experience needed for this role?: Knowledge and skills around cooking and nutrition. A level 2 in food safety/hygiene is desirable. You will not be supporting any young person alone. An enhanced level DBS is required for this role and if successful, we will support you in gaining this.
