Motiontech is hiring a Maintenance Engineer to support one of the UK's most advanced automated logistics facilities. This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team maintaining cutting-edge material handling and automation systems.
If you are a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with experience in automated environments, conveyors, PLC-controlled systems, or high-speed logistics/FMCG sites, this role offers technical challenge, stability, and exposure to advanced automation technology.

- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across automated material handling systems
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, minimising downtime
- Conduct fault finding on electrical, mechanical and PLC-controlled equipment
- Maintain conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics and automated handling systems
- Use CMMS to record maintenance activity and track performance data
This is a hands-on engineering role in a technically advanced automation environment.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a proactive, adaptable Maintenance Engineer with strong diagnostic capability and experience in automated or fast-paced production/logistics environments.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in logistics, automation, FMCG, manufacturing or similar
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working with:
- Conveyors and automated material handling systems
- Motors, drives, gearboxes and pneumatics
- PLC-controlled equipment (fault finding level)
- Experience using CMMS systems
- Flexible to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights)
- Strong commitment to safe working practices
- Multi-skilled engineers (electrical bias or mechanical bias) are encouraged to apply.
