The Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and implementation of conveyor systems, robotics, and automation projects. This role involves close collaboration with the project management and design teams to ensure each project meets technical specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. The Project Engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of 2D layouts, progressing from the initial sales concept through to customer approval, and ensuring systems interface correctly with the customer’s building and third-party equipment. The role plays a key part in coordinating and executing project activities, resolving technical issues, and supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Project Definition: Work within the project team and alongside the client to clearly define the technical scope of the system to be delivered. Agree system layouts, interfaces, performance expectations, constraints, and assumptions, ensuring there is a shared and documented understanding of what is included in the engineered solution.
  • Layout Ownership: Develop the 2D layouts, progressing from the sales concept through to customer approval. Ensure layouts interface correctly with the customer’s building and third-party equipment.
  • Technical Design Support: Support the engineering and design teams by contributing to technical reviews, including 3D design reviews, ensuring alignment between the engineered detail and the approved 2D layout and system intent.
  • Site Surveys & Installation Support: Carry out site surveys and provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing to ensure systems are installed in line with engineering intent and safety requirements.
  • Safety & Risk Management: Lead system design risk assessments and hazard mitigation activities, ensuring safe, compliant, and maintainable engineering solutions.
