A well-established North West civil engineering and groundworks contractor is looking for an experienced Site Manager / Foreman to join the team on an ongoing basis, with an immediate start available. Working on commercial and industrial developments across the South Cumbria and North Lancashire area, you'll be running groundworks and civils packages from the ground up — managing labour, plant and materials to keep the job on programme and on budget.

The role:

  • Day-to-day management of groundworks and civils operations on site
  • Overseeing drainage (foul and surface water), roads & sewers, foundations, sub-structures and external works
  • Coordinating gangs, plant and materials efficiently
  • Setting out / working from levels and drawings
  • Maintaining health & safety standards, RAMS and site records
  • Liaising with the client and project team to hit programme deadlines

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience managing groundworks / civils on commercial or industrial projects
  • SMSTS (or SSSTS) and a valid CSCS card
  • First Aid at Work (or willing to obtain)
  • Setting-out competence an advantage
  • Experience of works to adoptable standard (S278 / S38 / S104) desirable
  • Strong H&S awareness and the ability to lead a site hands-on
  • Full UK driving licence (own transport essential)
