We are seeking an experienced and results‑driven Telematics Installation Manager to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of telematics installation services across the UK. This is a high‑impact operational leadership role responsible for managing a blended workforce of in‑house engineers and third‑party contractors, ensuring installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. As the business continues to grow, you’ll be instrumental in increasing installation capacity, improving engineer utilisation, and driving down operational costs while maintaining excellent customer experience. You will own the performance of the installation operation and play a key role in shaping processes, standards, and strategic improvements across the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage UK‑wide in‑house engineers and external installation partners.
- Deliver installation capacity targets and continuously increase installs per engineer per day.
- Implement best‑practice workflows, route optimisation, and resource planning to maximise utilisation.
- Monitor and improve key operational KPIs including first‑time‑fix rate, installation completion rate, SLA achievement, and cost per install.
- Ensure all installations meet compliance, safety, and quality standards.
- Enhance productivity through technology, process improvement, and performance management.
- Oversee large‑scale customer rollouts and coordinate nationwide deployment activity.
- Manage contractor relationships, performance reviews, onboarding and commercial alignment.
- Act as the escalation point for operational issues, customer concerns, and complex deployments.
- Work cross‑functionally with sales, customer support, and technical teams to forecast demand and plan resource levels accordingly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in field service operations, telematics, automotive installation, or a related technical deployment environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing distributed engineering teams and third‑party contractors.
- Ability to analyse operational data, identify trends, and deliver measurable improvements.
- Track record of driving efficiency, reducing cost per job, and increasing throughput.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to introduce new processes, tooling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally when required.
