The Company

Mother is a London-based tech start-up redefining the world of vending and automated retail. We design, build and operate cutting-edge smart vending technology that delivers slick user experiences, market-leading reliability, and in-depth data insights. Since launching in 2014, we’ve grown into one of the fastest-growing vending operators in the UK. Our clients include major names such as Apple, Amazon, Virgin Active, ASOS, Visa, McLaren, and many more. We’re also working on global white-label projects with brands like PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Vodafone, Huel, and COOK. We’re a fast-moving team with a start-up energy, backed by a strong reputation for innovation, service, and delivery. As demand for automated retail continues to grow, we’re scaling our operations team — and we’re looking for a hands-on, motivated Warehouse Operative to join us.

The Role

As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a crucial part in keeping our warehouse operations running smoothly and efficiently. This role is highly physical and fast-paced, involving regular lifting and manual handling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock control: Maintaining accurate inventory records, including stock counting and reconciliation.
  • Daily stock preparation: Picking and preparing stock for vending operators using our internal warehouse software.
  • Stock rotation: Ensuring stock is rotated correctly, and products are stored to maintain quality and compliance.
  • In-date management: Monitoring expiry dates, ensuring stock is used in date order and identifying any items approaching expiry.
  • Warehouse housekeeping: Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.
  • Loading & unloading: Assisting with loading vans and moving stock using appropriate equipment.
  • Quality control: Checking items for damage, expiry, and accuracy.
  • Health & safety compliance: Following all company safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • General warehouse support: Assisting with any ad hoc warehouse tasks as required to support the team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Team-focused and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable and proactive, with a strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable using warehouse software and basic IT systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to follow processes and instructions
  • Comfortable with manual handling and lifting
  • Experience using warehouse management systems
  • Previous experience in retail or FMCG
