Bar Back – Mother & 45:33
Opening in Belfast this year, Mother will be an innovative and stylish cocktail bar featuring a roof terrace, dispense bar and regular DJs. The venue will operate independently but work closely together on production with a new listening bar, 45:33.
We are looking for energetic and reliable Bar Backs to join the team at Mother and help bring the concept to life.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the opening team at Mother and play an important part in supporting smooth, efficient bar service.
As Bar Back, you will keep the bars stocked, organised and ready for service, support the bartending team during busy periods and help maintain excellent standards behind the bar.
The rate of pay for this role is £12.71 per hour.

What you’ll do:
- Support the successful opening and ongoing operation of Mother
- Keep the bar stocked with glassware, ice, garnishes, ingredients and other service essentials
- Collect, wash, polish and return glassware efficiently throughout service
- Replenish fridges, storage areas and service stations before, during and after service
- Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, cellar organisation and the safe movement of stock
- Support the preparation of garnishes, juices, syrups and other ingredients in line with agreed standards
- Work closely with bartenders and floor teams to anticipate service needs and respond quickly during busy periods
- Complete opening, closing and cleaning duties accurately and on time
- Maintain excellent standards of organisation, cleanliness and presentation behind the bar
- Follow all hygiene, health and safety, manual handling, licensing and responsible alcohol service requirements
About you:
- Previous experience in a busy bar or hospitality environment is helpful (6 months+ preferred)
- A positive, hands-on approach and a willingness to support the wider team
- Confident working at pace while staying organised and attentive to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- A reliable team player who builds positive working relationships with colleagues
- Willingness to learn about bar operations, products, ingredients and service standards
- A commitment to maintaining clean, safe and well-organised work areas
- Comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including lifting, carrying and being on your feet for extended periods
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
