Contract type: Permanent, full time (5 days)

Working hours: 40 hours a week including a paid lunch hour. Flexible start (between 8am and 10am) and finish (between 4pm and 6pm).

Job Summary

Senior Finance Manager – you will evolve our financial operations and reporting to match our expansion plans. This role is a clear development path to a Financial Controller position, giving you hands‑on numbers, influencing business decisions, and shaping the future of a fast‑growing brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the first statutory financial audit and manage the audit relationship.
  • Own the monthly management accounts process, including consolidation, balance sheet reconciliations, and drive process improvements.
  • Analyse and articulate key financial drivers to P&L owners and the leadership team.
  • Oversee VAT returns, HMRC filings, and other compliance requirements; coordinate with external advisors and US accountants.
  • Ensure accurate AP and AR ledgers, oversee finance assistants, support working‑capital decisions.
  • Drive short‑term cash‑flow forecasting, manage weekly pay‑run approvals, and partner with People on payroll processes.
  • Collaborate with Operations to maintain accurate stock valuation and controls.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to business teams, transforming internal reporting and providing ad‑hoc analysis.
  • Support the Global Head of Finance on budgets, forecasting, and long‑range planning.
  • Champion finance transformation – automate processes, identify and implement a scalable tech stack, and build an agile controls framework.
  • Manage a small finance team of two direct reports, giving mentorship and career development.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant with several years relevant PQE in management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of group accounting and consolidation.
  • Data‑driven with a genuine interest in processes, automation, and how finance can empower the business.
  • Comfortable in a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment, balancing structure with agility.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in an FMCG or stock‑centred business advantageous; experience with Xero is a plus.
