Welcome to Motel. Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders, Will and Andy, travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there, they began designing reworked vintage pieces, and thus, Motel was born. Over 30 years and a team of 200+ people later, every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun, freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. We’re still ambitious and independent, but now we’re a global team - we work from an operational base in Worcester, a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.
The role of Talent Partner involves building a global fashion brand with roots in high-quality, consciously produced collections inspired by vintage design and worn by women all over the world. As we scale, we’re seeking a Talent Partner to join our HR team as our first dedicated recruitment specialist in the UK – owning the end-to-end hiring journey for all UK roles, shaping the way we attract, assess and appoint top-tier talent. You’ll have the opportunity to design gold-standard processes, embed best practices and elevate our hiring outcomes. You’ll directly impact our growth, culture and success by ensuring we bring in the right people to Motel. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, love driving hiring excellence and want to help build something special, then this is your role.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities of the Talent Partner:
- Take full ownership of the recruitment lifecycle for Motel's UK vacancies (sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer and onboarding).
- Design and execute simple, scalable hiring processes that balance speed, quality and candidate experience.
- Partner with Motel hiring managers to understand role requirements, define job specifications, set realistic timelines and manage expectations.
- Work with the existing People & Potential team to embed recruitment best practices, where necessary, to improve process quality and help People & Potential get time back.
- Elevate the candidate experience wherever possible through timely communication, consistent feedback, efficient scheduling and brand-aligned touchpoints.
- Manage relationships with external agencies when applicable, ensuring they align with our brand, culture, hiring priorities and cost expectations.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and business-critical roles.
- Track hiring outcomes and use data to continuously improve time-to-hire and quality of hire metrics.
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, data privacy standards and internal policies in the hiring process.
- Support Motel's sustainability initiatives by considering how our practices can improve, actively working in line with the sustainability journey of the business.
What Motel is looking for:
- At least 3 years' proven experience in recruitment/talent acquisition managing the end-to-end hiring process.
- Experience building or significantly improving recruitment processes and systems.
- Strong sourcing skills; familiarity with direct search, passive candidate engagement, social sourcing and referral programmes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with various internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll get working at Motel:
- Competitive salary in line with industry benchmarking.
- 3% employer pension contribution, 5% employee contribution as standard.
- 33 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, with additional days for long service.
- Birthday day off.
- Team socials and meetups.
- Monthly well-being activities to support.
- Tailored progression pathways.
- A thorough EAP scheme offering financial, legal and health support.
- Discretionary working from home available post probation.
- Access to professional support & mentoring.
- Discretionary Bonus Scheme for all employees paid out twice a year.
- Motel 50% discount.
