A leading facilities management organisation is seeking an experienced Principal Designer to support the delivery of high-profile construction and infrastructure projects within a central government portfolio. This is a strategic role focused on ensuring compliance, driving best practice, and embedding a strong health and safety culture across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, UK Building Regulations, and relevant H&S legislation
- Provide expert guidance across all RIBA stages, from concept through to completion
- Advise and coordinate stakeholders to meet statutory duties
- Undertake site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Manage risk registers and Health & Safety Files
- Deliver training and promote a proactive safety culture
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Principal Designer
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and Building Regulations
- NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent)
- APS membership (IMaPS desirable or working towards)
- Experience in complex construction projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to obtain SC-level security clearance
