Job Title: L8 Specialist (Water Hygiene & Compliance)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced L8 Specialist with a strong background in building services and water hygiene compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring full compliance with ACOP L8 standards across the estate, delivering expert guidance on Legionella control and water system management.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver all aspects of water hygiene and ACOP L8 compliance across the estate
• Undertake, write, develop, and review L8 Risk Assessments
• Provide technical advice and guidance on Legionella control and water management
• Work collaboratively with Garrisons to ensure ongoing compliance and assurance
• Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are carried out safely and in line with regulations
• Promote and enforce adherence to QHSE policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with all safe systems of work relating to water hygiene activities

Essential Experience

• Strong working knowledge of ACOP L8 requirements
• At least 6 months’ experience carrying out building surveys of water systems or similar environments
• Proven experience in completing L8 Risk Assessments
• Experience managing work associated with L8 compliance and water systems

Qualifications & Knowledge

• City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent) in plumbing, heating, or a related discipline
• City & Guilds Accredited Risk Assessment qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• Good understanding of COSHH regulations, water by-laws, and associated ACOPs including BS8580 and BS8558
• Competent in the use of standard IT systems and software
