This is a newly created opportunity to enhance the speed, consistency, and commercial accuracy of project pricing across a diverse client portfolio. The role will be instrumental in transitioning from a traditional multi-quote approach to a more data-driven pricing model, including the development of a robust cost database to enable faster turnaround and improved cost certainty.
Working across four business units, the Quantity Surveyor will support a growing project team and contribute to delivering commercially sound solutions within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost database to support efficient and reliable pricing
- Produce accurate cost estimates, budgets, and benchmarking data to improve response times to client requests
- Review and analyse subcontractor pricing, reducing reliance on multiple quotations where appropriate
- Manage project costs across the full lifecycle, ensuring commercial control from inception to completion
- Administer contracts in line with JCT and NEC forms, including accurate management of variations
- Monitor project financial performance, ensuring alignment with budgets and profitability targets
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operational teams to ensure commercially viable delivery
- Support procurement strategies and subcontractor engagement to achieve best value outcomes
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks across projects
- Contribute to continuous improvement of pricing methodologies and commercial processes
- Provide clear, timely reporting on project financial status
- Deliver fast, accurate, and commercially robust pricing aligned to client expectations
- Maintain strong cost control and governance across multiple projects and business units
- Support divisional growth by improving pricing efficiency and commercial insight
- Contribute to profitability through effective cost management and value engineering
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, fit-out, M&E, or facilities management
- Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, including variation management
- Experience managing costs across multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to improve pricing processes or implement cost systems/databases
- Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of cost drivers and value engineering
- Experience contributing to or managing P&L performance is advantageous
- Background in fast-paced and client-facing environments preferred
- Experience in critical environments, lifecycle projects, or technical facilities
- Exposure to fit-out, refurbishment, or construction projects
- Strong commercial accountability and ownership
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to work at pace without compromising accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
