We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Capital Projects Team, playing a key role in the commercial delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital works. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to lead projects from pre-construction through to final account, while supporting accurate cost control, forecasting, and commercial governance across the programme.
The Role
Working closely with project, procurement, and finance teams, you will take full responsibility for the commercial management of assigned projects, ensuring best value, compliance, and strong financial outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of capital projects from pre-construction to final account
- Undertake site visits and surveys to support pricing, specifications, and scopes of work
- Support tender processes, including tender analysis and joint recommendations
- Produce cost plans, estimates, and formal client submissions
- Provide commercial data to central commercial and finance teams
- Offer contractual and commercial advice to the wider project team
- Assess site progress and validate supply chain applications and invoices
- Review quotations and variations to ensure value for money
- Manage project instructions, contingencies, and risk budgets
- Oversee supply chain orders and ensure timely payment processing
- Ensure compliance with company commercial policies and procedures
- Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
About You
Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS)
- Full UK driving licence
Experience & Knowledge
- Experience within PFI and/or public sector FM contracts is highly desirable
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt to bespoke systems
