Our client, a leading Facilities Management organisation, is seeking an Energy & Environmental Analyst to support the analysis, reporting, and improvement of energy and environmental performance across a diverse, multi-site portfolio. This role plays a key part in supporting carbon reporting, environmental compliance, and energy efficiency initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams and contract stakeholders, providing data-driven insight and practical site-based support.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse utility, energy, and waste data to produce clear and insightful management reports, enabling contracts to monitor consumption, identify trends, and improve performance.
- Collate, validate, and process complex datasets for mandatory and voluntary reporting, including:
- Annual ESG reporting
- SECR reporting
- Carbon Reduction Plans
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting platforms and client submissions.
- Travel to client and operational sites across the UK to conduct energy and environmental audits.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and environmental improvement, producing clear, actionable audit reports.
- Interrogate and assess Building Management System (BMS) performance, recommending adjustments to control strategies, setpoints, and operational schedules to reduce energy waste.
- Assess site-level environmental compliance, identify risks, and promote best practice in energy and environmental management.
- Document findings and recommendations in formal technical reports for both internal and client use.
- Work collaboratively with the Energy & Sustainability Manager and contract teams to support compliance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems across the portfolio.
- Support the maintenance and upkeep of environmental records, registers, and permits.
- Ensure all activities are delivered in line with internal ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Essential
- Degree in an environmental, sustainability, energy, or related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in an energy, environmental, or sustainability-focused role.
- Experience of environmental and/or waste management within a commercial or operational environment.
- Experience working across multi-site portfolios.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear insights.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Good understanding of utilities within a business or FM context.
- Strong working knowledge of UK energy and environmental legislation and reporting frameworks, including SECR and ESOS.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to sites.
- Desirable
- Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Professional membership of a relevant body (e.g. IEMA, CIWEM, Energy Institute).
