We’re working with a well-established UK property developer delivering high-quality, design‑led construction projects nationwide. With a growing pipeline in the South West, they are looking to appoint a hands‑on Commercial Lead to sit at the heart of Construction and Finance. This role is finance‑led, not surveying‑focused, and would suit someone who enjoys being close to live projects, site teams, and funders.

The Role

As Commercial Lead, you will take ownership of commercial and financial control across live developments, acting as the key link between delivery teams, finance, and external stakeholders. You will be involved day‑to‑day in:

  • Cost control, forecasting, and cashflow management across construction projects
  • Commercial reporting and financial governance
  • Working closely with construction teams to track progress against budget and programme
  • Preparing lender reports, phase completions, and managing development finance drawdowns
  • Supporting procurement decisions and contract administration from a commercial perspective

This is a hands‑on role with real influence — not an overly corporate or desk‑based position.

About You

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • A finance or commercial background within construction, property development, or housebuilding
  • Experience managing project finances, cost control, and forecasting on live builds
  • Exposure to lender reporting, development finance, or drawdowns (highly desirable)
  • The confidence to work closely with site teams, senior leadership, and external funders
  • A practical, delivery‑focused mindset — comfortable rolling sleeves up

Ideal Backgrounds

You may currently be working as a:

  • Commercial Finance Manager (Construction / Development)
  • Finance Business Partner (Construction or Property)
  • Development Finance Manager
  • Project Finance Manager
  • Commercial Manager (finance‑led background)
