12 month contract – Outside IR35

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading construction and engineering firm seeking an experienced Senior Planner. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a key role in delivering high-profile projects within the civil and construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project delivery within time and budget.
• Provide planning management and support across both pre-contract and contract operations.
• Develop, manage, and update programmes for acceptance in line with NEC contract requirements.
• Effectively communicate project schedules to internal and external stakeholders.
• Incorporate change events into construction programmes and coordinate with commercial teams to secure full contractual entitlements.
• Monitor project performance against agreed baselines and provide detailed forecasting.
• Deliver comprehensive programme outputs including Critical Path Analysis, short-term lookaheads, and subcontractor scheduling.
• Support corrective action plans and develop recovery strategies where necessary.
• Ensure risk management processes are effectively implemented, including the integration of time risk allowances.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure programme alignment and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Requirements:

• Project controls or project management qualification.
• Degree / HNC in an engineering or construction discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years\’ experience in project planning within the civil/construction sector, ideally with leadership exposure.
• Strong knowledge of planning techniques, including Critical Path Method (CPM) and resource-loaded scheduling.
• Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
• Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM) and programme reporting.
• Comprehensive understanding of NEC Contracts, including the assessment of compensation events.
• Familiarity with CEMAR for NEC contract management.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Security Clearance (SC) – UKSV Vetting Service (previous clearance would be advantageous).
