The PMO will be responsible for ensuring rigorous adherence to project governance, stage gates, and reporting requirements. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, impeccable organisational skills, and a proactive approach to project management, someone who takes full ownership, never misses a deadline, and ensures all actions are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance & Project Management:

  1. Strictly enforce project governance, stage gates, and compliance processes across all projects.
  2. Lead weekly project status meetings with clients, ensuring clear communication of progress, risks, and actions.
  3. Oversee project close-out meetings, ensuring all deliverables are met, lessons learned are captured and documentation is completed.
  4. Own and manage project budgets, tracking costs, forecasts, and financial performance against plan.
  5. Maintain risk registers and ensure escalations follow the correct governance processes.

Operational Planning & Resource Management:

  1. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, dependencies, and deadlines.
  2. Allocate and schedule resources including surveyors, QC teams, and other specialists, ensuring full utilisation and adherence to deadlines.
  3. Set clear targets and KPIs for all project contributors, including client approval deadlines.
  4. Track performance against plans, providing regular reports on resource allocation, progress, and risks.
  5. Lead mobilisation of new contracts, ensuring all elements are in place from scope definition to operational execution.
  6. Arrange and coordinate site access, implementing clear escalation and access processes.
  7. Ensure full surveyor induction and training, including compliance with safety and operational protocols.
  8. Oversee management of all resources, ensuring project milestones are met in line with client expectations.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Extensive experience in a PMO role within an asset management or M&E environment.
  2. Strong governance expertise, ensuring strict adherence to processes, controls, and reporting structures.
  3. Highly organised and deadline driven, with a track record of delivering projects on time and to scope.
  4. Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring no action is missed and all deliverables are accounted for.
  5. Confident in running client-facing project status meetings, reporting on progress, risks, and budgets.
  6. Experience in budget management, financial tracking, and forecasting within projects.
  7. Ability to allocate and schedule resources effectively, ensuring surveyors, QC teams, and other staff are fully optimised.
  8. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
