At MSV Housing, we are committed to making sure our customers have good quality safe homes and our Electricians are key to making this happen. We are looking to recruit an experienced individual to join our established team. Our Electricians maintain, repair, install and inspect all electrical equipment for the Group's properties and partners' equipment. In addition, we are looking for candidates that have a passion to advocate on behalf of people and communities.
What do our Electricians do:
- Deliver high quality electrical repairs, maintenance, installations, inspections and testing across domestic and commercial properties, including minor works certification, EICRs, installation certificates and fault diagnosis.
- Maintain and service specialist systems such as fire and security alarms, CCTV, emergency lighting, intercom/door entry systems, photovoltaic panels, and electrical components of domestic heating systems.
- Provide excellent customer service, liaising with tenants, clients and internal teams to arrange appointments, ensure satisfaction, and contribute to fast void turnaround times.
- Work safely and professionally, adhering to NICEIC standards, health and safety procedures, risk assessments and asbestos protocols, while using and maintaining tools, vehicles and equipment responsibly.
- Support operational efficiency, completing documentation accurately, preparing schedules/tenders, supervising apprentices when required, managing materials and vehicle stock, and participating in an out of hours emergency rota.
What we are looking for:
- Fully conversant with the latest IEE Wiring Regulations Certificate (18th edition).
- City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (part 1, 2 and 3).
- Experience of working as an Electrician.
- Able to inspect, test and issue minor work certificates, electrical condition reports and electrical installation certificates for both domestic and commercial properties.
- Experience of establishing and developing professional working relationships with internal and external customers, contractors, external partners and colleagues.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of the service that MSV delivers to our customers, so your effective communication skills and ability to understand with empathy the diverse needs of our customers will be key. You'll be based in the communities we serve and will work under minimum supervision and as part of a team using a flexible approach.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all colleagues to share this commitment. As this job is based within our property care team where you'll be entering the homes of our customers, a basic criminal records background check (free of charge to you) is required. A criminal conviction does not necessarily stop you from working with us. All decisions regarding convictions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Further detail on our commitment to safeguarding young people can be found in our Safeguarding policy attached alongside this vacancy's candidate pack.
We offer a range of great benefits including:
- Company vehicle.
- 33 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, and a holiday buy scheme.
- Company pension scheme with up to 10% matched contributions.
- Company funded access to a health cash plan, where you can claim back costs of everyday health treatments such as optical, dental and much more.
- Enhanced sick pay with up to 3 months full pay and 3 months half pay.
- Health and Wellbeing Support including an employee assistance programme, free counselling, mental health first aiders and numerous wellbeing initiatives.
- Life assurance subject to being a member of our company pension scheme.
- Learning and development to support you to develop the skills you need to fulfil your role and progress in your career.
- Commitment to Equality and Inclusion with employee network groups covering anti-racism, LGBTQ, disability and long-term health conditions, carers, and menopause.
MSV are committed to Equality and Inclusion; all applications are scored against the essential criteria of the role; however, we encourage candidates to submit an ammonised CV if they can do so. MSV are also committed to supporting you to balance work and life, including with any caring or parental responsibilities you might have, and have a range of flexible working options and wellbeing support available to all colleagues to facilitate this.
