Are you the person everyone escalates to when IT Infrastructure really matters? This is a Senior Infrastructure role where you’ll own the design, stability, and evolution of a modern Microsoft‑led environment — not just keep the lights on. A well‑established North Manchester organisation with a sizeable on‑prem and Azure footprint is strengthening its internal IT function. You’ll act as the technical authority across infrastructure — shaping architecture decisions, leading complex projects, mentoring others, and working closely with IT leadership to modernise systems in line with wider business goals. This is a hands‑on senior role, not a ticket queue.
What makes this role genuinely attractive:
- Technical ownership — you’ll lead infrastructure design across on‑prem, hybrid, and cloud
- Project‑led environment — upgrades, migrations, automation, and platform improvements
- Automation encouraged — PowerShell and efficiency improvements are actively supported
- Influence & visibility — your technical input shapes IT and business strategy
- Stability with momentum — established organisation investing in its technology
Core areas you’ll work across include:
- Azure & hybrid infrastructure
- Networking (Cisco, Firewalls, VPNs)
- Storage, Backup & DR
- Security, patching, monitoring, and standards
You’ll also mentor colleagues and act as the final escalation point for complex issues. If you’re a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who wants:
- more ownership
- more influence
- a role where good engineering actually gets listened to
…this is worth a confidential conversation.
2 Days Hybrid working after successfully passing probation, we want you to know the people and processes first which happens from the office. There is a defined WFH policy in place. North Manchester / Commutable from Ashton, Bury, Bolton, Rochdale or Oldham & surrounding areas.
