St Peter's VC Academy School is looking for an Achievement Support Assistant to join their team. The role involves collaborating with teachers and other support staff to address the needs and learning journey of students throughout the school day and at the After School Club.
Role Details
- Permanent role – 26.25 hours per week – term time only plus 5 additional days.
- Achievement Support Assistant – 12:15 pm to 3:15 pm – Monday to Friday.
- Afterschool Club – 3:15 pm to 5:30 pm – Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with individual students or small groups to deliver tailored support that meets each pupil’s specific educational, emotional and physical needs.
- Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), adapt lesson materials for accessibility, and provide one‑on‑one attention to help pupils stay engaged and make progress.
- Collaborate with class teachers, SENCO and external specialists to monitor pupil development, manage behaviour sensitively, and create a safe, nurturing atmosphere that encourages independence and confidence.
- Lead small‑group interventions under the direction of the class teacher.
- Help run the Afterschool Club ensuring high standards of provision are maintained, health and safety are upheld, and basic refreshments (toast, cereal, fruit) are prepared.
