An operations focused organisation is looking for a Transport & Contracts Logistics Planner to join its team. This is a key role responsible for planning vehicles, coordinating drivers and managing third party logistics providers to ensure services run efficiently and meet customer requirements. The role sits within a fast paced operations environment where the ability to think quickly, adapt plans and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules and operational activity
- Allocate vehicles and drivers in line with availability and drivers' hours regulations
- Respond to real time changes and service disruptions
- Coordinate and manage third party logistics providers
- Maintain clear communication with drivers, contractors and internal teams
- Ensure operations remain compliant with transport and safety regulations
- Support out of hours response activity where required
About you
- Experience in logistics, transport planning or operations coordination
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Calm and solutions focused when working under pressure
- Comfortable using planning systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Experience working with third party logistics providers is beneficial
Working pattern
- Initial training period: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00
- Following training: 4 on 4 off shift pattern including:
- Day shift 08:00 - 18:00
- Mid shift 12:00 - 22:00
- Night shift 20:00 - 08:00 (remote)
