Mosaic 1898 Direct Payment Support Service is assisting a family to recruit a Support Worker. They are looking for a support worker to assist a 16‑year‑old male with multi‑complex needs in the Langham area of Oakham, Rutland. In return, they offer a highly competitive hourly rate and ongoing training.

The required support worker will need to display a high level of initiative, be able to work as part of a team and follow a structured routine. You will be responsible for providing quality support to improve the life of the service user and his family. Specific training will be provided.

It is desirable that applicants have experience or be willing to undertake training, where necessary, in the following:

  • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG)
  • Epilepsy
  • Mechanical Ventilation
  • Suction
  • Chest/respiratory therapy
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Working with young people with complex medical needs
  • Sound understanding of good care principles and excellent communication skills

It is essential for candidates to hold a full driving licence. They are currently looking to cover four shifts per week, two waking nights and two sleeping nights. Waking night shifts take place from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am and sleeping shifts from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. They are also looking for candidates to cover additional ad‑hoc hours as a part‑time role. Applicants must be flexible during holidays to meet the client’s needs. A rota will be agreed one month in advance. Additional hours may be available to cover annual leave or sickness.

Pay rates:

  • £20.00 per hour weekdays
  • £22.00 per hour weekends
  • £150.00 per night (sleeping)
  • £200.00 per night (waking)

This role does not currently support sponsorship applications as the post does not meet the current Home Office criteria. If you are invited to interview, you will be required to bring documentation proving your entitlement to work in the UK. As a condition of employment, you may be required to obtain a DBS.
