The Role
This is a varied and hands-on position where you'll play a key role in supporting the finance function and partnering with colleagues across the business. You'll work closely with senior management, providing meaningful financial information to support commercial decision-making while leading a small finance team. Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts
- Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
- Providing financial analysis and commentary to senior management
- Business partnering with operational managers across the dealership
- Coaching and supporting a small finance team of four
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring financial compliance
- Assisting with year-end accounts and external audits
- Monitoring financial controls and identifying process improvements
- Supporting a range of finance projects as the business continues to evolve
About You
We're looking for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys building relationships and wants to make a genuine impact within the business. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within a dealership, automotive or motor trade finance environment or a strong desire to develop a career within the sector
- Experience producing management accounts and supporting the month-end process
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work closely with operational managers and senior leadership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Experience with dealership systems such as Kerridge, Drive or Pinnacle would be advantageous, although not essential
- Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or actively studying), with full study support available
