The Role

Based at Head Office, you will report to the Tax & Treasury Accountant. This is a newly created position within the Financial Control and Compliance Team, forming part of a centre of expertise in the organisation. You’ll support the Tax & Treasury Accountant in managing investments and cashflows, submitting tax returns, overseeing treasury and banking operations, and providing expert advice when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day banking and treasury functions
  • Manage funds held in the bank and investment accounts
  • Prepare monthly VAT returns for the Group, ensuring full compliance
  • Produce monthly cashflows and forecasts
  • Perform reconciliations, including investment funds for the organisation and its subsidiaries
  • Provide expert advice to identify potential tax savings and opportunities
  • Offer guidance on global tax legislation and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Overseas and Global Taxation rules, liaising with HMRC and other relevant bodies
  • Collate data for year-end tax returns
  • Support preparation of pension returns
  • Administer Endowments and Trust Funds
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
  • Represent the organisation at external forums
  • Collaborate with operational teams and senior managers to ensure finance is integrated into strategic planning and decision-making

Who We’re Looking For:

  • AAT qualified or early-stage ACCA student
  • Self-motivated and working towards becoming a qualified accountant
  • Ambitious with a desire to learn and grow within the organisation
  • Proven experience in finance, ideally within tax and treasury functions
  • Business-focused, with a problem-solving mindset
  • Experience preparing VAT returns and cashflow reporting (essential)
