Our client has enjoyed significant growth in recent years which has been facilitated by increased customer demand, continued diversification of their product range and ongoing investment from their parent company. Due to internal promotion, my client is seeking a Qualified Senior Management Accountant to join its team. The role will be based across 2 primary sites in South Wales and will report into the Head of Finance.

My client is seeking a qualified Senior Management Accountant to join its finance team. The role will pay a salary of up to £65k doe plus an excellent benefits package to also include a bonus of circa 5%.

The main role of the Senior Management Accountant will be to lead and manage the finance function managing the day-to-day financial activities of the company. The successful candidate will be a tenacious and confident leader who will be responsible for creating processes aligned to the departmental strategy whilst developing and nurturing the team to ensure that short and mid-term business objectives are fully realised. You will engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting while improving standards and process adherence and also ensure compliance to regulatory financial and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management and development of finance team direct reports (team of circa 7 staff)
  • Ensure all day-to-day finance activities run smoothly
  • Co-ordinate and lead month end accounting processes
  • Timely and accurate reporting of the monthly management accounts
  • Monthly/Quarterly reporting to head office of sales, investments, and monthly accounts
  • Lead internal and external audit, Implement audit recommendations
  • Produce weekly P&L forecasts and key operational KPIs
  • Support other departments with relevant reporting
  • Oversee 4 weekly payroll and support where necessary
  • Identify areas of system and control weakness and implement processes and procedures to improve
  • Oversee and review accuracy of month end stock valuations and stock quantities
  • Oversee data integrity in Sage X3
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (Auto-enrolment pensions, Payment performance reporting, ONS surveys, etc)
  • Present financial information and be involved in Site leadership team meetings
  • Adhere to strict Environmental, Health and Safety policies and safe operating procedures, whilst promoting a health and safety culture to safeguard all employees
  • Ad hoc activities as requested by Head of Finance

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • Intermediate / Advanced Excel

Experience:

  • 5 years post qualification experience in a senior finance management role
  • Manufacturing industry experience (FMCG or Manufacturing desirable)
  • Sage (X3 desirable)
  • EDI experience desirable
  • WMS experience desirable

The successful candidate will be a proven leader with an ability to lead by example whilst nurturing a collaborative team environment. You will possess strong organisational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to implement new systems and processes.

Benefits of the role:

  • Salary up to 65k doe plus a bonus of up to 5% depending on company and individual performance
  • Holiday entitlement is 25 days plus Bank Holidays which rises with service up to 30 days
  • 5% employer pension and 3% employee
  • Private Health care on offer

The role will be based solely on site, dividing your time between 1 of 2 site locations in South Wales.

The working hours are 9 am – 5 pm with an hour for lunch Monday to Friday.
