Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be supporting a brilliant Tredegar-based SME to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant, working in a vibrant, friendly, and fast-paced office environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys a hands-on role, thrives in an SME setting, and wants to be part of a close-knit team. You ll report directly to the Finance Director and support the Assistant Accountant across a broad range of finance duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end close processes
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage intercompany transactions
  • Oversee bank reconciliations and monitor bank balances
  • Support cashflow reporting
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Maintain financial records using Sage 200
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure efficient finance operations

Ideal Candidate:

  • AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of core finance processes and controls
  • Experience in a hands-on finance role within an SME environment
  • Confident using Sage 200 (or similar accounting software)
  • Proactive, dependable, and adaptable comfortable rolling your sleeves up
  • Driver with access to a car (essential due to rural location)

  • Salary up to £30,000 FTE (depending on experience, pro rata if 4 days)
  • 4- or 5-day working week flexible to suit your preferences
  • 9:00am 5:00pm hours with a 1-hour lunch
  • 1-day WFH per week (once settled in)
