Are you an experienced Accountant or Bookkeeper looking for a flexible part-time role in a dynamic and growing business? Our client, a well-respected company in the restoration sector, is seeking a skilled professional to manage their day-to-day accounting functions and support their ambitious growth plans.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take full ownership of the company’s financial operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for an AAT-qualified Accountant or an experienced professional (QBE) to make a real impact in a standalone role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Xero Implementation & Management: Set up and maintain the Xero accounting system
  • VAT & Import/Export Accounting: Manage VAT processes for goods purchased outside the UK
  • Work in Progress (WIP) Accounting: Track project costs and customer advances in line with WIP accounting principles
  • Day-to-Day Transactions: Oversee purchase and sales ledger invoicing, payment runs, and credit control
  • Payroll Management: Process payroll for a small team
  • Ad Hoc Finance Tasks: Support the business as needed with additional finance-related duties

About You

  • AAT Qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
  • Strong technical accounting skills with previous experience in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Xero (or the ability to implement it)
  • Knowledge of VAT for imports and exports
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

Working Hours & Location

  • 15 hours per week (with flexibility for additional hours if needed)
  • Hybrid working available: Initially office-based in Cardiff, transitioning to hybrid once established
  • Flexible start and finish times
