About the Role
Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a friendly, dynamic and rapidly growing firm in the St Mellons area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to take the next step in their career, contributing across financial accounting, planning, budgeting, and project management functions.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, supporting daily accounting operations as well as preparing and reviewing management information, P&L reports, VAT returns, and statutory accounts. The role also involves supervising and developing junior colleagues, providing both technical guidance and support with their professional exam progression.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and review of pension scheme reports and accounts.
Manage scheme cashflow reports, delegating and reviewing work of junior colleagues.
Prepare for year-end audits, liaising with auditors to ensure smooth completion and timely filing.
Produce and review monthly P&L reports and quarterly VAT returns.
Support the production and presentation of financial information for the executive committee and Partners, highlighting concerns and key issues.
Assist in financial audits and recommend improvements to processes and controls.
Supervise and mentor junior members of the finance team, reviewing their work and supporting their professional development.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a newly qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA) or equivalent, with a strong grounding in financial accounting. You will bring a proactive, organised, and detail-focused approach, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting and audit processes.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
Ability to supervise, support, and motivate junior colleagues.
Benefits
Salary circa £45,000 (DOE).
37.5-hour week with flexible core hours (10:00–12:00 and 14:30–16:00).
Hybrid working model (up to 3–4 days WFH post-probation, subject to performance).
24 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (with holiday purchase/sale scheme).
Pension scheme – 5% matched contributions.
