Are you an experienced Finance Manager looking for a new challenge? My client, a well-established organisation with over 35 years of success, is seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the financial operations of two companies while working closely with the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and complete the monthly management accounts pack for group submission by working day 6.
- Perform full reconciliation of the company’s balance sheet monthly.
- Analyse sales & gross margin performance against previous years and forecasts.
- Monitor company costs and provide variance analysis.
- Report monthly financial results (P&L, Balance Sheet, and other specifications) to the parent company.
- Calculate and post Depreciation Journals for tangible and intangible fixed assets.
- Reconcile stock per TB to stock listings and calculate stock obsolescence provisions.
- Manage debtor’s ledger, reconcile external customers, and assess bad debt provisions.
- Reconcile GBP and EURO bank accounts.
- Oversee creditor’s ledger, accruals, and debit balances.
- Run payroll for 25 employees and calculate associated PAYE and Pension liabilities.
- Perform group intercompany asset and liability reconciliation.
- Supervise a part-time Finance Assistant, providing cover during absences.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly sales/margin reports.
- Calculate monthly commission payments.
- Act as the first point of contact for auditors.
- Prepare financial information and KPI reports for internal meetings and board reports.
- Complete rolling monthly forecast submissions.
- Ensure HMRC compliance for PAYE and VAT, including VAT returns and Intrastat reporting.
- Prepare and post journal adjustments (depreciation, prepayments, accruals).
- Assist with ad-hoc financial reports and tasks as assigned by the MD or Group CFO.

- Experience in managing staff and overseeing financial operations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise at all levels.
- Proactive in developing and enhancing the role.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, etc.).
- Knowledge of importing goods and customs processes is desirable but not essential.
What’s on Offer?
- Competitive salary: £40,000 - £45,000 DOE
- Working hours: Monday - Thursday (08:30 - 17:00), Friday (08:30 - 16:00) with a 30-minute unpaid break.
