Graduate DevSecOps / DevOps Engineer

Requirements

• We require applicants to be a UK national with no other nationality and able to receive and hold SC government security clearance.
• We require experience with containerised software delivery using platforms such as Kubernetes or Open Shift, including YAML-based deployment.
• We require experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, dependency checking, and controlled deployment.
• We require the ability to manage deployments into constrained enterprise or government cloud hosting environments.
• We require experience with logging, monitoring, patching, rollback, and operational support of live systems.
• We require understanding of secure-by-design principles, including secrets handling, TLS, access control, auditability, and vulnerability management.
• We require the ability to work across development, security, operations, and customer/platform teams to resolve technical blockers.
• We require familiarity with Git-based workflows, release governance, artefact management, and environment promotion.
• We require a willingness to work in the defence and security sector.
• We would value hands‑on experience with tools such as Sonar Qube, Argo, Tekton, Open Shift, Kubernetes, Git Hub, or similar equivalents.
• We would value experience producing deployment documentation, runbooks, technical evidence, and operational procedures.
• We would value the ability to troubleshoot issues across development, test, integration, and hosted environments.
• We would value experience supporting design reviews, security reviews, and formal acceptance activity.
• We would value experience with MOD, Defence Digital, or similarly controlled environments.
• We would value exposure to SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, container hardening, and remediation workflows.
• We would value experience supporting API‑led systems, SSO integration, and cross‑team interface management.
• We would value experience with SSO, RBAC, audit logging, and regulated or security‑conscious environments.
• We would value experience in defence or other high‑assurance delivery environments.
• We would value experience in training or simulation environments.
• We would value the ability to read and create UML diagrams and architecture.

Responsibilities

• We manage and support our development team and training estate.
• We support the delivery of our EPIC training application for defence.
• We develop and maintain a secure, modern, responsive platform for collective training delivery.
• We integrate the platform with wider training and support systems.
• We support live systems through monitoring, patching, rollback, and operational activity.
• We work across development, security, operations, and customer/platform teams to remove technical blockers.
• We support deployment, integration, testing, and customer‑site activities as needed.
• We support design reviews, security reviews, and formal acceptance processes.
• We troubleshoot issues across development, test, integration, and hosted environments.
• We produce or maintain deployment documentation, runbooks, technical evidence, and operational procedures.
• We may undertake occasional national and international travel to support training.
