Summary of Role
The Business Analyst provides a key role in delivering the firm’s innovation agenda by providing specialist expertise in identifying, analysing, and shaping business requirements to drive process improvement, client service excellence, and the implementation of advanced technology solutions.
This role will work closely with stakeholders across the firm to explore opportunities for improvement and lead the delivery of projects that support efficiency, accuracy, and growth. The role will also contribute to the strategic development of the team and wider business.
Key Tasks
- Engages with stakeholders to gather, understand and document business needs, turning them into clear, actionable requirements.
- Analyses existing business processes, identifies inefficiencies, and maps improved future‑state workflows.
- Leads the design, delivery, and evaluation of innovation projects, working collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Conducts research into legal technology trends and emerging tools, producing recommendations that align with firm strategy.
- Leads communication, training, and stakeholder engagement activities to drive adoption of new tools and ways of working.
- Leads in tracking and evaluating the success of innovation initiatives through qualitative and quantitative metrics.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Business, Technology, Law, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a business analysis, change, or innovation role within a law firm, professional services, or regulated environment is highly desirable. Proven ability to translate business needs into tangible project outputs. Ideally the relevant person will have detailed knowledge and significant experience of the relevant business areas and services provided by a law firm.
- Experience with legal systems (e.g., Document Management Systems, Practice Management Systems, DocuSign, HighQ datarooms, etc) would be beneficial but not essential. Familiarity with process mapping tools and requirement gathering frameworks would be beneficial. Experience with no‑code and low‑code platforms or data tools is an advantage. Experience with automation and artificial intelligence tools and systems would also be beneficial.
- Any relevant certifications would be an advantage: e.g., Lean Six Sigma, AGILE, Scrum Master, or Business Analysis (e.g., BCS, IIBA).
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels. Comfortable working independently on multiple priorities. A curious, pragmatic mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo.
