Mortimer Medical Practice is a GP training practice located in rural Kingsland, Herefordshire, serving around 9,000 patients across three sites. We are looking for a salaried GP (5 to 6 sessions) to join our team. Salary is £10,800 to £12,500 per session, per annum, depending on experience and additional skills or responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary care consultations via face‑to‑face, telephone, and digital platforms.
- Assess, diagnose, treat and manage acute and long‑term conditions, ensuring continuity of care.
- Prescribe safely in line with current clinical guidelines and request/interpret investigations.
- Deliver preventative care, screening, immunisations and health promotion.
- Manage chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, asthma and mental health conditions.
- Respond to urgent and emergency presentations as required.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and service development activities.
- Support teaching and supervision of trainees where appropriate.
- Assist with administrative duties related to patient care and support PCN initiatives.

Qualifications
- Qualified General Practitioner with full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Inclusion on the GMC GP Register and GP Performers List.
- Post‑graduate qualification in long‑term conditions or a related medical field (e.g., minor surgery).
Experience and Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge across general practice, including diagnosis and management of undifferentiated conditions.
- Excellent consultation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working within a dispensing practice.
- Familiarity with electronic patient record systems (e.g., EMIS DOCMAN, Anima, Triage).
- Experience in clinical audit, research or quality improvement initiatives.
- Additional clinical skills or specialist interests such as minor surgery, learning disabilities or mental health are desirable.
