On a charming corner of Fitzrovia sits Mortimer House Kitchen, an Italian restaurant, bar and terrace where guests stop by for breakfast, stay for a long lunch, and linger over supper. We're looking for a Restaurant Floor Team Member who loves making people feel welcome.
Who we are
Brava Hospitality Group is the home of great restaurant brands. We're the group behind Prezzo Italian, Jamie's Italian, Riding House Café, Nessa, Yasmin, Mortimer House Kitchen and, most recently, Bolo by Gennaro. We're growing the footprint of every one of our brands, which means real opportunities to grow with us.
Mortimer House Kitchen is our Italian restaurant in the heart of Fitzrovia. Our menu brings to life summers spent in Orta San Giulio and on the Amalfi Coast. Inspired by the simplicity of Italian cooking, we champion the freshest British and Italian produce, served generously and made for sharing.
From breakfast to dinner, every part of the day has its own moment. Guests settle in by our open kitchen, soak up the atmosphere on our sunny terrace, and celebrate in our Conservatory, which transforms at the pull of a curtain into a private dining room for feasts of up to 20 guests. On Saturdays, our brunch brings fluffy buttermilk pancakes, Italian baked eggs and bottomless Prosecco.
The role
As a Restaurant Floor Team Member, you create the moments guests remember, from a perfectly timed coffee to a long, lazy lunch on the terrace. You bring warmth, energy and attention to detail to every table.
At Mortimer House Kitchen, it all comes down to two things: the impression we make and the connections we build. Every guest should leave feeling genuinely looked after, whether they came for a quick coffee or a celebration with 20 friends. That starts with how we treat each other. Teams who look out for one another, have fun together and take pride in what they do create the moments guests remember.
What you'll be responsible for
- Welcome guests warmly and guide them through the menu.
- Take food and drink orders accurately and share your recommendations.
- Serve food and drinks promptly and with care.
- Keep tables beautifully set and the dining room ready.
- Work closely with the kitchen and bar so every shift runs smoothly.
- Take payments accurately.
- Keep the dining room clean, safe and welcoming.
What we're looking for
- Experience in a restaurant or guest-facing role.
- Great communication and a genuinely warm manner.
- Able to look after several tables and stay calm when it's busy.
- A team player who goes the extra mile.
- Available to work a mix of days, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
Mortimer material?
You're warm, generous and love great food. You notice the small things, like a regular's usual order or the table that needs a little extra care, and you take pride in getting them right. You enjoy the buzz of a busy central London restaurant and bring energy and calm to it in equal measure. Above all, you want every guest to feel like the evening is theirs to savour.
What's in it for you
You'll give a lot to this role. Here's what we give back.
- Tronc, so you share in the success of a busy restaurant.
- Company pension scheme, if you're eligible.
- Life assurance at 2x your annual pay.
- Paid holiday allowance.
- Refer a friend and earn up to £1,000.
Time and wellbeing
- Your birthday off, every year.
- Free or heavily subsidised meals on shift.
- 24/7 GP helpline and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
- Stream (formerly Wagestream), our financial wellbeing app: access pay you've already earned, save straight from your pay, and get tools and guidance to manage your money.
Perks
- 50% off at Mortimer House Kitchen.
- 25% off at every other Brava restaurant.
- Share 25% off with up to 5 friends and family, even when you're not there.
- Free Tastecard and the Hospitality Rewards app for retail discounts.
Your future
Ongoing development and coaching. Opportunities across all of Brava's restaurant brands as we grow.
