Job Description

Website Operations & Optimisation Executive — permanent, full time (freelance or part time considered). Home based with occasional travel to London office. Up to £42,000 plus benefits.

About the role

We’re looking for a hands‑on Website Operations & Optimisation Executive to take ownership of a business‑critical, high‑traffic website for HomeOwners Alliance (HOA), recently acquired by MAB. HOA is a growing, highly visible, dynamic popular property advice website and trusted one‑stop shop for people buying, selling and owning homes as an online lead generation business with over 3 million visits a year.

This role is for someone who enjoys building, improving and optimising digital experiences, who takes pride in making things work better, faster and smarter.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the website is secure, reliable, high‑performing and commercially effective, while continuously improving user journeys, conversion and customer experience.

What you’ll be doing

Own and optimise day‑to‑day website performance

  • Maintain, monitor and improve website uptime, speed and reliability
  • Troubleshoot issues across plugins, APIs and integrations
  • Carry out WordPress maintenance, updates and releases
  • Support environments, backups and deployment processes
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact customers

Deliver front‑end improvements and UX enhancements

  • Build and refine landing pages, layouts and UI components
  • Improve mobile experience, navigation and customer journeys
  • Implement UX and conversion optimisation changes
  • Test and QA all changes before release

Enhance customer experience through AI tools

  • Test and optimise chatbot journeys and responses
  • Support knowledge base and content management
  • Monitor performance and user feedback

Drive performance and optimisation

  • Improve page speed and Core Web Vitals
  • Use tools like PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse to identify opportunities
  • Help ensure revenue‑generating pages perform at their best

Support technical SEO and visibility

  • Apply SEO best practice across site structure and performance
  • Support improvements to search visibility and discoverability

Tech stack you'll be working with

  • WordPress (with ACF)
  • GA4, GTM and Search Console
  • PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals
  • APIs, third‑party integrations and automation tools (Zapier)
  • AI tools including our in‑house assistant

About you

You’re someone who:

  • Has strong experience with WordPress, themes, plugins and ACF
  • Has managed or optimised live, high‑traffic websites
  • Enjoys problem solving and getting hands‑on
  • Understands performance, UX and conversion optimisation
  • Can troubleshoot technical issues across integrations and APIs
  • Brings a commercial mindset, understanding the link between site performance and revenue
  • Is proactive, accountable and takes real ownership of outcomes
