Are you passionate about precision, compliance and delivering a great employee experience? We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our collaborative and high-performing Finance Team. In this new role, you’ll ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for our growing organisation of around 1,000 employees across MAB Group. You’ll work closely with the Payroll Manager and People & Culture team to provide a seamless, compliant and people-focused payroll service. What You’ll Do
- Process monthly payrolls in line with UK statutory requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain and update payroll records (new starters, leavers, pay changes, benefits).
- Ensure compliance with HMRC, pension schemes, and employment legislation.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and statutory reports.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond to employee queries with professionalism and care.
- Produce payroll reports for internal stakeholders and auditors.
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation and best practices.
- Support process improvements and system enhancements.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator, Specialist or similar in a high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory obligations.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., IRIS, Sage, ADP) and confident with Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Great interpersonal skills with an ability to be empathetic and clear when handling queries.
- Highly trustworthy and discreet with confidential information.
- Organised, dependable and solution-focused with a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of IRIS/IRIS Cascade is desirable.
