Permanent, Full-time Hybrid – 2 days at our Derby office, 3 days working from home. Salary up to £120,000 plus benefits.

About The Role

This role is a senior high impact leadership position that enables and develops a high performing audit function. Responsible for leading an independent internal audit function and providing assurance and insight to the Board, Audit Committee and Executive team. You will set the strategic direction for audit across the Group, ensuring effective governance, risk management and internal controls. This role is key to identifying emerging risks, providing objective challenge and driving continuous improvement across financial, operational and regulatory areas. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help safeguard the organisation, support regulatory compliance and strengthen confidence in how the Group is managed and controlled.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and shaping an independent Group Internal Audit function, providing objective assurance to the Board, Audit Committee and Executive team.
  • Setting and delivering a risk based audit strategy aligned to the Group’s business objectives, risk profile and regulatory environment.
  • Providing insight and constructive challenge on governance, risk management and internal control effectiveness.
  • Identifying emerging risks and driving continuous improvement across financial, operational, regulatory and strategic areas.
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders, regulators and external auditors to enhance assurance and confidence across the Group.

About You

You are a senior internal audit leader with a strong track record of operating at Board and Audit Committee level. You bring strong expertise and sound judgement across governance, risk management and internal control within a complex, regulated environment. You are credible, independent and confident in providing objective challenge, with the judgement to balance assurance with insight. A collaborative and values led leader, you build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and inspire high‑performing audit teams to deliver impact and continuous improvement.
