The Senior QA Engineer is a key member of the Technology team, responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability and scalability of a modern, microservices‑based platform used across the financial services sector.
This role has a strong focus on test automation and quality engineering, playing a pivotal part in shaping test strategy, improving test coverage and accelerating delivery across the software development lifecycle.
Working within a cross‑functional Agile delivery squad, you will collaborate closely with Developers, Product Owners and Dev Ops to embed quality early and ensure solutions are robust, release‑ready and aligned to business goals.
- Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of automated test frameworks
- Contribute to and support CI/CD pipelines, enabling fast, reliable and repeatable deployments
- Define and execute test strategies aligned to Agile delivery and modern engineering practices
- Partner closely with Engineering and Dev Ops teams to improve test effectiveness and coverage
- Analyse, log and clearly communicate defects, risks and test outcomes to stakeholders
- Perform targeted manual testing for complex, exploratory or high‑risk scenarios as required
- Use SQL to validate data, support end‑to‑end testing and assist with troubleshooting
- Actively contribute to improving QA practices, tools and processes across the wider team
- Strong experience in software testing of web-based applications.
- Have a good understanding or experience with the project lifecycle and deployment of commercial web applications.
- Knowledge on UI automation tools like Selenium.
- Good experience in API testing using Swagger.
- Experience with software tools for planning and tracking the workflow of test cases and new project work.
- Previous experience working within an Agile environment.
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Any related testing qualifications would be advantageous.
