We are partnering with a leading multinational in the infrastructure and construction sector to find a talented Estimator. This is a pivotal role within their dynamic Commercial Team, where you will take ownership of the bid process from initial opportunity through to successful submission. More than just a number-cruncher, you will be a key driver of growth.
The Role:
You’ll be at the heart of securing new business, managing the entire tender lifecycle for frameworks and significant projects, primarily within the rail/construction sector. Your analytical skills and commercial acumen will be critical in delivering winning proposals.
What You’ll Need:
- Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within Rail, Construction, or a related infrastructure field.
- A strong track record of managing tender documents and understanding contract terms.
- Excellent IT skills, including experience with estimating software and CAD viewers.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- The skill to engage and manage multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- A degree in Construction Management (or similar) and/or professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, ACostE, ICES) is highly desirable.
A typical day might involve:
- Identifying and developing new tender opportunities that align with business strategy.
- Analysing complex drawings, specifications, and rail standards to produce accurate, comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborating with technical, commercial, and project teams to consolidate inputs and build a robust bid.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure optimal pricing.
