We are partnering with a leading multinational in the infrastructure and construction sector to find a talented Estimator. This is a pivotal role within their dynamic Commercial Team, where you will take ownership of the bid process from initial opportunity through to successful submission. More than just a number-cruncher, you will be a key driver of growth.

The Role: You’ll be at the heart of securing new business, managing the entire tender lifecycle for frameworks and significant projects, primarily within the rail/construction sector. Your analytical skills and commercial acumen will be critical in delivering winning proposals.

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within Rail, Construction, or a related infrastructure field.
  • A strong track record of managing tender documents and understanding contract terms.
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience with estimating software and CAD viewers.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • The skill to engage and manage multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • A degree in Construction Management (or similar) and/or professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, ACostE, ICES) is highly desirable.

A typical day might involve:

  • Identifying and developing new tender opportunities that align with business strategy.
  • Analysing complex drawings, specifications, and rail standards to produce accurate, comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborating with technical, commercial, and project teams to consolidate inputs and build a robust bid.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure optimal pricing.
  • Leading on tender documentation, coordinating site visits, and presenting at settlement meetings.
