Morson Vital have an excellent opportunity for a CEM who has strong working knowledge with OLE and Lineside Civils.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly competent OLE & Lineside Civils Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) to lead engineering assurance and delivery across rail infrastructure projects. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring that all Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) and associated civils works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • Act as the Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) in accordance with rail industry standards.
  • Provide engineering leadership across OLE and lineside civils disciplines.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant standards (e.g. Network Rail standards, CDM Regulations).
  • Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Oversee design reviews, approvals, and technical submissions.
  • Ensure robust engineering assurance processes are implemented and maintained.
  • Interface with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify and manage engineering risks and opportunities.
  • Support project planning, resource allocation, and delivery milestones.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CEM within the UK rail industry.
  • Strong background in OLE (Overhead Line Equipment) and lineside civils works.
  • In-depth knowledge of rail standards, engineering processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience managing engineering teams on complex infrastructure projects.
