On behalf of our client, an established supplier of build-to-print metallic & composite parts, kits, and assemblies to the global aerospace industry, we are looking to recruit a permanent CNC Machinist to work within the CNC Milling team planning and programming using Mazak or Fanuc Control systems on multi axis machines.
Responsibilities:
- Setting & operating CNC machinery as well as programming online and offline
- Helping to minimise waste
- Help to ensure that your cell achieves its Quality targets
- Engage in any relevant training activities
- Provide input into process improvements
- Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required within the jobholder's capability consistent with the Terms and Conditions of employment.
Qualifications, skills, attributes, experience required:
- Experience operating Vertical Machining Centres and working with multi-axis machines within a heavy engineering environment or working with large scale material would be an advantage
- Knowledge / experience / ability to competently adjust offsets in program or tool setting
- Competent in the use of inspection equipment and the interpretation of measured values, including using Digital Verniers, Micrometers, Dial Test Indicators etc
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and associated tolerances and specifications
- Knowledge / understanding of the importance of traceability with regards to material usage and movement
- Minimum 6 months experience of working with CNC
- Team playing ability with a good work ethic and a 'can do' attitude
- Good basic ability in Maths and English.
