Morson is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK infrastructure organisation delivering major capital projects across a long-term framework within the North West.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
This is a leadership role, managing Project Managers, engaging with key stakeholders and supply chain partners, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This opportunity would particularly suit someone who has delivered projects within regulated utility frameworks involving clean water and wastewater infrastructure programmes.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Project Managers.
- Managing the successful delivery of multiple projects across a varied portfolio.
- Monitoring programme performance, budgets, risks and project controls.
- Identifying project risks early and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners.
- Managing commercial inputs, change control and contractor performance.
- Ensuring robust project governance, quality assurance and HSEQ compliance.
- Building strong relationships with clients, local authorities and key stakeholders.
- Undertaking site visits, attending leadership meetings and providing technical and commercial direction where required.
- Supporting commercial close out and final account activities.
About You
We’re looking for someone with
- Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
- Previous experience working on programmes for UK regulated utility providers, ideally involving clean water or wastewater assets.
- Strong leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing project teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Good commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and financial performance.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts.
- A strong understanding of HSEQ legislation and project governance.
- SMSTS and either PRINCE2, APMP or equivalent project management qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Qualifications such as an HNC/HND or Degree in an engineering or construction discipline, along with IOSH, NEBOSH or NEC PMA accreditation, would be advantageous.
