Morson are recruiting to support our Barrow-in-Furness based defence client with the Cost Engineer requirement. This role will be on a hybrid basis, 3 days on site in Barrow. The rate is £63.40 /hour via Umbrella.

Responsibilities

  • The Cost Engineer will be the lead for cost control across the AVC project, ensuring BAE keeps to budget on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • They will update the spend forecast, articulate any cost variances, and develop the estimate of completion (EAC).

Knowledge

  • Experience as a Cost Lead Expert on Dreadnought (desirable)
  • Other similar industries – e.g., Oil & Gas

Skills

  • Fluent in Excel – SAP desirable
  • Familiarity with planning tools such as P6 (advantageous but not essential)

Qualifications

  • Some form of PM qualification (not essential)
