Track Technician Job Description Location: England, Greater London, Croydon Job Type: Contract, Full-Time hours Primary Industry: Rail Secondary Industry: Engineering Salary: £210 PAYE or £284 UMBRELLA Benefits: holiday pay Job Duties: – Inspect and maintain railway tracks, ensuring they are safe for train operations – Repair and replace damaged track components – Use specialised equipment for track maintenance and repairs – Follow safety procedures and regulations while working on tracks – Assist in track construction and improvement projects Required Qualifications: – Experience working in the rail industry Education: – High school diploma or equivalent – Additional vocational training in track maintenance is desirable Experience: – Minimum of 2 years of experience in railway track maintenance – Hands-on experience with track inspection and repair Knowledge and Skills: – Knowledge of track maintenance procedures and best practises – Proficiency in using track maintenance equipment – Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skill Knowledge of the below is desirable – Experience of track patrolling – Experience with vossloh track fixing systems – Small tools and plant tickets – S&C inspections – General track maintenance activities – Track renewals activities – Lubricator maintenance Preferred Qualifications: – Certification in railway safety regulations – Previous experience working on electrified tracks Working Conditions: – Work in outdoor environments along railway tracks – Possibility of working night shifts and weekends – Physical demands, including lifting and bending
