We're now looking for a Technical Sales Manager to play a critical role in our international support proposition. This is a high-impact position, combining technical expertise, customer engagement, and strategic growth across our global customer base.
The Opportunity: As Technical Engineer Sales Manager, you'll be the primary interface for key support customers, driving engagement, identifying growth opportunities, and shaping technically robust solutions. Working closely with our Segment Lead and cross-functional teams, you'll combine your market insight with Ultra Maritime's engineering excellence to deliver real value in the maritime defence sector. This role is hybrid and can be based from any Ultra Maritime UK office, with flexibility to travel to customers and sites as required.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Act as the primary point of contact for non-contracted incumbency customers
- Build and execute customer-specific business strategies to grow revenue
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within existing accounts
- Translate customer requirements into compliant, high-quality technical solutions
- Lead and support bids, tenders, PQQs, and ITTs to agreed deadlines
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and R&D
- Support systems engineering activities, including architecture, verification, and certification
- Use CRM tools to track opportunities and identify future sales potential
- Maintain the highest standards of EHS, ethics, and compliance
What We're Looking For:
- Proven sales and/or engineering experience within maritime defence equipment
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- 5+ years' experience within the defence industry
- Strong track record of building and maintaining customer relationships
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Self-motivated, structured, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Strong IT and CRM capability
- Flexible, customer-focused approach
- Valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
Security Requirements: This role requires BPSS clearance as a minimum, with potential for further national security vetting depending on project needs.
