An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Stress Engineer to join a leading engineering services provider supporting advanced aerospace programmes. You’ll play a key role in the structural analysis and validation of aircraft seating systems, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with aerospace standards. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility with 3 days on-site in Cwmbran and 2 days working from home.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Performing finite element analysis (FEA) using Altair Hyperworks (Hypermesh, Optistruct, Hyperview) and MSC Nastran
- Conducting linear and non-linear implicit analysis
- Producing and reviewing aerospace-standard classical stress calculations
- Validating FE models and simulation results
- Preparing and presenting high-quality technical reports
- Collaborating closely with Design, Certification, and Production teams
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong experience with Altair Hyperworks and MSC Nastran
- Proficiency in linear and non-linear FEA
- Skilled in FE model validation and checking
- Strong grasp of classical hand calculations
- Desirable:
- Experience with Radioss or other non-linear explicit solvers
- Knowledge of fatigue analysis, damage tolerance, and occupant injury criteria
- Background in the aerospace industry
- Familiarity with FAR/CS 25-561, EASA Part 21J, and ARP 5526
