Senior Credit Controller
Manchester - Hybrid Working (3 days in office)
We\'re looking for a driven and experienced Senior Credit Controller to join a Credit Control team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a portfolio of complex client accounts, ensuring the prompt and efficient collection of outstanding invoices while supporting the Credit Control Process Manager with reporting and team operations.
What you\'ll be doing
- Achieve monthly cash collection targets through proactive and overdue debt management.
- Prioritise collections by value and payment profile, ensuring contact within insurance policy timelines.
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve invoicing queries promptly and process credit notes efficiently.
- Process self-billing invoices and prepare reconciliations to tight deadlines.
- Perform detailed sales account reconciliations and maintain accurate, high-quality records.
- Provide monthly client statements and ensure unallocated cash is monitored and cleared.
- Support credit insurance compliance, minimising exposure to credit losses.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for senior management.
- Identify and support continuous process improvements across the department.
- Deputise for the Credit Control Process Manager when required.
About you
- Proven experience in a similar role within a large B2B organisation.
- Strong track record of achieving cash collection targets.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Confident working under pressure and managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a process‑driven mindset.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and solid Microsoft Office experience.
- Proactive, adaptable, and a true team player.
- CICM qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
