Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is recruiting for a TIME SERVED Mechanical Fitter to work NIGHT SHIFTS at their state‑of‑the‑art facility in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Pays Rate(s) as follows:

  • PAYE: £28.08 Per hour for the first 12 weeks (£32.25 with holiday pay per hour paid on top for every hour worked) rising to £29.49 per hour after 12 weeks (£33.78 with holiday pay per hour)
  • UMBRELLA: £37.70 per hour for the first 12 weeks, rising to £39.50 per hour after 12 weeks

*role is INSIDE IR35*

**In order to be considered for this opportunity you will need to hold an apprenticeship (proof required) AND be eligible for SC (Secret Level) UK Security Clearance as both the role and client site have ITAR nationality restrictions**

Working pattern is Monday - Thursday (7.30pm - 6am 10 hours per night). *there will be a period of training on day shifts before being moved onto nights*

Specific responsibilities:

  • Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure.
  • Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits.
  • Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks.
  • Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle.
  • Ensure manufacturing build times are met.
  • Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack.
  • Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a good housekeeping policy.
  • Communicate best practice to other team members.

The successful candidate should be a team player who is able to demonstrate customer focus. They should also have proven planning and organising skills and be flexible and adaptable.

Skillset/experience required:

  • Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship
  • Previous Mechanical Fitter experience (within engineering / rail / aviation / military / manufacturing)
  • Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle.
