Marshall Land Systems are recruiting for Skilled Paint Sprayers to be based at their site in Cambridge (postcode is CB5 8RX). The role plays a pivotal role in some high-profile military projects, and your ideas and contribution will be valued in a business where people really matter. Training will be provided on the products and there is scope for further development and progression within the Company.
Standard working hours are 7.15am – 3.45pm Monday to Thursday with a half day finish on Fridays. Overtime is available and comes with an enhanced rate.
Your responsibilities in this role include:
- Spraying components of varying sizes
- Working with a variety of paints from gloss to matt, water based and solvent
- Maintaining product certification and approval via regular audits
- Ability to sort all paint defects interior or exterior using various tools and techniques, be it by using spray gun, brush head or roller head
- Possessing a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks
- Being fully conversant with all equipment and tools associated with the Paint Spraying process
- To spray units as per customer specification using electrostatic spray pumps and single/twin pack paints
- Check and complete all paperwork associated with the Manufacturing data pack
- Support the Production Managers and Team Leaders, ensuring that all Marshall Land System projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standard
- Take an active role in continuous improvements, to include lean and 5s procedures
- Ensure equipment and tooling required is identified to the line manager

- Time served as a painter with a proven track record of paint experience
- Experience in commercial vehicle, motor trade and aircraft paint spraying
- Fully trained in working with various primers and topcoats including water based and solvent based paints
- City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent time served
