Morson Talent are currently recruiting for Crane Supervisors & Slingers to work on-site in Devonport dockyard in Plymouth. Working safely in a maritime environment, you will be required to inspect lifting equipment to ensure its fit for use, you will mainly use chain blocks and fleeting techniques. You will need to be competent in the general use of lifting equipment and tools related to the role, such as the use of fixed gantry (overhead traveller) cranes, spreader bars, plate clamps and chain blocks. You will also need to have experience in the following areas: Ability to read and interpret lifting instructions. Proven track record of completing work to time, cost and quality parameters.Ideally will have worked in the marine industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships although other relevant experience will be considered. 12 month contract 35 standard hours a week, 07:30 – 15:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 – 12:30 on a FrIday, shift and overtime a posibility but not guaranteed. Pay Rates Slingers PAYE – £19.45 per hour Umbrella – £24.16 per hour (Pre 12 weeks) & £24.71 per hour (Post 12 weeks) + Radius Allowance. Crane Supervisors PAYE – £23.40 per hour Umbrella – £29.19 per hour (Pre 12 weeks) & £29.85 per hour (Post 12 weeks) You must hold a valid slinging qualification such as CPCS/NPORS/NVQ/Supervisor and have experience of heavy complex lifting operations.
